Led by team leader Michael Ginsbach, the Idaho State University project was on the Development of an integrated, testable conceptual model of blind geothermal resources in the eastern Snake River Plain  as it applies to the Newdale geothermal prospect.

The student competition challenged teams at universities across the country to conduct cutting-edge research in geology, geoscience, chemical and bio-molecular energy, and engineering that could lead to breakthroughs in geothermal energy development.

The winner was announced Wednesday at the 36th Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) Annual  Meeting in Reno, Nevada.
The GRC congratulates the students on their achievements.
